Cataracts

Opthalmic health consultation, investigation treatment

  • Any eye abnormality or visual problem may be the subject of a consultation with our specialists. This consultation ensures fast and effective treatment that will restore optimal vision quality to the patient, according to the diagnosis.

  • On site cataract surgery or other

At the first consultation, a preoperative assessment is performed to clearly diagnose the problem, establish the operation to be performed and the technique to be used. This workup covers the patient’s general and ophthalmologic history; it brings to light any counter-indications and pinpoints the patient’s motivations and visual needs as well as possible. This step leads to a discussion with the patient about all the options available to treat the problem and a conclusion on the result desired by the patient.

  • Cataract, Glaucoma and Retinopathy

During an ophthalmology consultation, we perform all the necessary tests to detect even the early presence of specific diseases that could reduce the patient's quality of vision in the short, medium or long term, whether cataracts, glaucoma or retinopathy. We work with various devices on the cutting edge of technology that can diagnose, treat, document and track various eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and other problems.

  • YAG: Capsulotomy, iridotomy

Argon: focal treatment, macular grid, panphotocoagulation, laser treatment

SLT: “Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty” where it is difficult to obtain or maintain near vision that is clear.

All procedures requiring surgery covered by the RAMQ are performed in hospitals in the metropolitan region of Montreal, where our affiliated ophthalmologists are located.

Some laser treatments and preoperative assessments can be done on site, to minimize any delays. Professional fees are covered for RAMQ card holders. However, some practice charges may apply. A complete price list is available on site.
